The more you know your caller the better you can inject the senses into the sessions and elicit real psychological responses. You’re an Elicitationist too! 😉
I have had a few sessions where there was background noise like a dog barking but usually only briefly and it’s mostly in the form of My Ms shifting in her seat or adjusting her mic. None of it ever was a problem.
But it did make me think and since this post is about sound I realize the only sound is the sound of her voice.
Audios aside what IF knowing your caller meant you could let the occasional specific sound be part of the session?
Easier said than done of course. Some would be too difficult but I mentioned the tink of your fingernail on glass and the rolling of fingers on a plate. That kind of thing could be done and some things done without words or in addition to words are extra powerful.
For other clients? Whatever they’re into. The crack of a whip, the slap of a paddle, whatever it is.
Without getting too cheesy with sound affects if you are thinking like a foley artist you might be able to get some (easy ones) in there. Even one or two at most in the session but well placed and timed is enough. You wouldn’t necessarily have to get all crazy with it like blowing air horns, ha ha!, you probably have neighbors!
Someone who likes spanking and humiliation (not me)? A sharp “bend over…do it NOW!” followed by the sound of you actually slapping your hand against the other or a paddle I would think might send them over the top!
Any (fetish) caller. “…do it NOW… RIGHT NOW!” followed by the snap(ping) of your fingers
Touch, smell, taste relies on how good you are at creating and describing it so your caller ‘feels it’ but it still comes from (the sound of ) your primary tool, your voice.

Your voices, you are all great at it. Laughter, changes in intonation…The best also use other sounds. Those little sighs, incidental utterances and little vocal blips of approval or disapproval I mentioned. Not spoken words, just like well timed pauses and moments of silence.
