Japanese Rope Bondage (lovely pictures in the link) is called Shibari and it is something I love to watch displayed and do whenever I can. I wish I could do it half as good as these artists.
Binding Time
It can take more than an hour to bind a bottom, but that is part of the wondrous process of taking a person and making him or her into a submissive. By the time the Shibari Japanese Rope Bondage is complete, subs are often in a place called subspace, a wondrous headspace that feels different for different folks, but has been described as floaty, like they are high, but without drugs or alcohol, dreamy… and is caused by endorphins flowing through the body. Oftentimes, subspace is found with a combination of pain and pleasure, but others, just the process of submitting can do it, as in Shibari.
Winding the Rope
Watching the bottom being wound with rope is mesmerizing. The person is usually not naked, but wearing a bikini or panties because the ropes can irritate over time. They might be sitting, lying down or even standing on a platform waiting to eventually be suspended.
